One of the Brewers top prospects, Mat Gamel, has revealed to the club that he had been playing through an injury during the season.

Gamel revealed on Thursday that he was playing with a sore right elbow, which might have been the reason for his drop in production at the plate in the second half of the season.

Gamel has been with the Brewers big club since his September 1st callup and has appeared in only two games with the Brewers.

He went 1 for 2, picking up his first Major League hit on September 7th against the San Diego Padres.

Gamel hit a combined .325 between two levels in the Brewes system with 20 homeruns, 99 RBIs, 99 runs scored, 172 hits and 7 triples with 35 doubles.
