Rays Sign Six
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed six players to Minor League contracts and all six were invited to big league Spring Training.
Those six players include catcher Michel Hernandez, outfielder Jon Weber, left handed pitcher Randy Choate, right handed pitcher Julio DePaula, infielder Ray Olmedo and outfielder Ray Sadler.
Olmedo, Sadler, Choate, Hernandez and DePaula all have prior Major League experience and a ton of Minor League experience.
Hernandez spent the entire postseason on the Rays playoff roster after catcher Shawn Riggans underwent surgery.
Hernandez has also seen playing time in the Majors with the New York Yankees in 2003. He has played in only 10 games at the Major League level.
