Giants Sign Miller

The San Francisco Giants, needing help in the bullpen, signed former Florida Marlins reliever Justin Miller to a Minor League contract on Saturday.

Miller was a member of the Marlins bullpen for the past two seasons before being designated for assignment by Florida on August 15th.

The Giants will also invite Miller to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee.

Miller spent some time on the disabled list in 2008 with right elbow inflammation.

He went 4-2 with a 4.24 ERA in 46 games for Florida in 2008. He struck out 43 and walked only 20 in over 40 innings of work. In 2007, Miller made 62 appearances and compiled a 5-0 record with a 3.65 ERA.

Miller began his Major League career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2002 as a starting pitcher. He has appeared in 153 career games, 33 of them starts.
